Cancharana wood is a “Lesser-Known Species” that grows in Latin America. LKS are marketed to take the pressure off the over used and endangered trees.
The candle holders are made of cast bronze and ensure that the flame cannot touch the wood. I carved a pattern and had a small local company do the casting.
The wood is certified as sustainable by the Forest Stewardship Council. “FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.” Certification (fsc.org)
